形容词和副词比较级的用法
1.有些形容词和副词由于其词义而不可能有比较级形式
right，excellent，perfect，true，empty，infinite，final，possible，atomic，monthly，yearly，here，very，now等。
2.比较前可用“数词+名词”构成名词短语表示确定的度量。如
He is two inches taller than me .他比我高两英寸。
She could not take a step further.她一步也不能走了。
3.比较对象要相呼应，相比内容必须相同，相比对象可用one,that,those和do代替。如：
The price of meat is highe than that of rice.肉的价格比米高。
The lab in your school is smaller than that in ours.你们学校的实验室比我们的小。
The girls of your class are much more than those of our class.你们班的女生比我们班的多。
4.比较级在比较结构中一定要将自己本身除外（指在同一范围内），常用other或else来表示。
Shanghai has a larger populating than any other city in China.上海人口比中国其他城市的人口要多。
Tom studies harder than anyone else in his class.汤姆比班上其他人学习更刻苦。
5.“比较级+and+比较级”或“more and more +原级”意为“越来越”。如：
Our city is becoming more and more beautiful。我们的城市变得越来越美了。
Things are getting better and better every day.情况一天天好起来。
6.“the+比较级......+the +比较级......”,表示“越......,就越......”。
The more ，the better。越多越好。
The harder you study,the more knowledge you will get.你越努力，掌握的知识就越多。
易混淆短语辨析
1.no more than和not more than
（1）no more than意为“和......一样不”，指前后两者都差；not more than意为“并不比......更”，not只否定前者，表示前者不如后者。
His English is no better than mine。他的英语并不比我的好。（两者都不好）
His English is not better than mine。他的英语不如我的好（我比他好）。
（2）后接数词，no more than意为“只不过”，而not more than意为“不超过”。如：
I have no more than 5 yuan in my pocket.我口袋里只不过5元。
I have not more than 5 yuan in my pocket.我口袋里不超过5元。
2.no less than 和not less than
(1)no less..惊悚片....than 后接形容词或副词含有肯定意义，意为“与......一样......”;not less ......than意为“不比......更.....”,表示从程度上前者不差于后者。如：
He is no less quick at figures than I.他对数字的反应和我一样快。
He is not less quick at figures than I.他对数字的反应至少和我一样快。
（2）no less than 后接数词表示“多达......”,not less than表示“不少于，至少”。如：
There are no less than 10 books on the table.桌上的书多达10本。
There are not less than 10 books on the table.桌上至少有10本书。
3.more......than和more than
（1）more......than意为“与其说......不如......”(强调前者)。如：
He is more a worker than a teacher.与其说它是老师，不如说他更像一名工人。
She is more diligent than wise.与其说她聪明，不如说她勤奋。
（2）more than意为“超过”，后面常接数词词组，与less than 一样，也可以修饰形容词、分词或动词，表示程度。如：
There are more than 20 people attend the meeting.有20多人参加了这次会议。
