去年因为疫情，GRE&托福等线下考试暂停而导致考生们无法及时出分，所以学校提供GRE成绩可选择提交申请。但是，紧接着ETS就推出了家考 (Test At Home) 这样一个全新的考试模式，来暂时代替线下考试，尽管在去年的7月份线下考试已经逐步恢复，但是家考也一直沿用至今。
不得不说，这让GRE&托福考高分似乎已经成了一件比较容易的事情，各宣传网页上代考，保分等广告满天飞，导致留学圈对于GRE在家考的公平性，也存在着不少质疑。
有的学生虽然GPA不高，但是标化成绩高的惊人，还是用incredibly high来形容。所以招生关门可能也大致明白有的学生用了一些 “讨巧” 的办法拥有如此高分的成绩。今年的申请美国许多高校依旧是GRE Optional的政策，也不排除是因为家考成绩太水，招生官们还是持保留态度的原因。

UCB
加州大学伯克利分校近期宣布：2022研究生申请超过125个研究生项目可免除GRE提交，这其中包括了EECS、环境科学、政策与管理系、生物物理学、植物微生物等众多项目。
众所周知，UCB一直是国际生申请的香饽饽院校，其实早在今年5月份，加州系各大学学院就宣布将从2022年开始削减国际学生和州外学生的名额，而UCB又因为扩招人数问题而被地方法院判处了“冻结招生规模”的禁令，即在今后学校的最大入学人数不能超过现在的水平。
并且UCB在决定2022申请可免GRE提交的同时，也明确表示了“同时我们期待能制定更好的评估方法，除了减少对GRE的依赖，学校研究生部将与教职员工合作，改进研究生整体录取，并且关注各系研究生教育中的多元化和包容性。”

康奈尔大学
康奈尔商学院下的管理学硕士，2022Fall申请同样不要求GRE成绩，但是项目也明确提出，缺少标化成绩，招生办会通过其他申请材料来评估你的学术能力。
