　　Five ways to make conversation with anyone

　　（与其他人交谈的五种方法）

　　Conversation are links, which means when you have a conversation with a new person a link gets formed and every conversation you have after that moment will strengthen the link.（谈话就是建立联系，这意味着当你每一次与新认识的人进行谈话，一个新的联系就建立起来了，并且此后的每一次谈话都会加强这种联系。）

　　You meet new people every day: the grocery worker, the cab driver, new people at work or the security guard at the door.（你每天都会碰到新认识的人：杂货铺的伙计，计程车司机，上班人员或者门口的保安。）Simply starting a conversation with form a link.（简单地开启一段交谈就会形成一种联系。）

　　Here are five simple ways that you can make the first move and start a conversation with strangers.（这有五种简单的方法能帮助你走出第一步并开始与陌生人的一个交流。）

　　41. Just say it（说出来就行）

　　Suppose you are in a room with someone you don’t know and something within you says”I want to talk with this person”——this is something that mostly happens with all of us.（假设你和一个你不认识的人在一个房间里，你内心说：“我想和这个人交谈”——这是我们大多数人会碰到的事情。）You wanted to say something——the first word——but it just won’t come out, it feels like it is stuck somewhere.（你想说点什么，第一句话就是说不出来，话语好像被卡在了什么地方。）I know the feeling and here is my advice: just get it out.（我知道这种感觉，这是我的建议：说出来就行。）

　　Just think: what is the worst that could happen? They won’t talk with you? Well, they are not talking with you now!（只要想想：最糟糕会发生什么？他们不愿意和你交谈？好吧，他们现在就没有和你交谈。）

　　I truly believe that once you get that first word out everything else will just flow.（我确信一旦你说了第一个字，每一件事将会持续下去。）So keep it simple: “Hi”, “Hey” or “Hello” ——do the best you can to gather all of the enthusiasm and energy you can, put on a big smile and say “Hi”.（所以简单点说：“嗨”、“嘿”或者“你好”——尽量用你所有热情和能量，带着大大的笑脸去说“嗨”。）

　　42. Skip the small talk（略过闲聊）

　　It’s a problem all of us face; you have limited time with the person that you want to talk with and you want to make this talk memorable.（我们所有的人都会面临一个问题；你和你想交谈的人时间有限，而你又想使得该次谈话令人难忘。）

　　Honestly, if we got stuck in the rut of “hi”, “hello”, “how are you?” and “what’s going on?”, you will fail to give the initial jolt to the conversation that can make it so memorable.（老实说，如果我们陷入套话“嗨”，“你好”，“你好吗？”和“发生什么了？”，你将失去了初始谈话的震撼感和让谈话变得令人难忘。）

　　43. Find the “me too”s（找到共同点）

　　When you meet a person for the first time, make an effort to find the things which you and that person have in common so that you can build the conversation from that point.（当你第一次碰到一个人，你要努力找出你们的共同点，这样你们从这一点就能建立起谈话。）When you start conversation from there and then move outwards, you’ll find all of a sudden that the conversation because a lot easier.（当你从那个方面开始交谈然后扩大开去，你会突然发现谈话变得容易地很多。）

　　44. Be present（在线状态）

　　Imagine you are pouring your heard out to someone and they are just busy on their phone, and if you ask for their attention you get the response “I can multitask”.（想象一下你正在向某人用心倾诉，而他正在忙于打电话，假如你要求他关注你，你会得到一个回复“我可以一心多用的。”）

　　So when someone tries to communicate with you, just be in that communication wholeheartedly.（所以当有人试着跟你交流的时候，一定要全身心投入其中。）Make eye contact.（使用眼神交流。）Trust me, eye contact is where all the magic happens.（相信我，眼神交流是有魔力的。）When you make eye contact, you can feel the conversation.（当你用眼神交流的时候，你能感觉到对话。）

　　45. Name, places, things（名字、地方、事情）

　　You all came into a conversation where you first met the person, but after some time you may have met again and have forgotten their name.（你第一次碰到这个人并进行了交谈，过了些时间你可能再一次碰到他，你却忘记了他的名字。）Isn’t that awkward!（这不是很尴尬！）

　　So, remember the little details of the people you met or you talked with; perhaps the places they have been to, the places they want to go, the things they like, the things they hate——whatever you talk about.（所以，记住你遇到的人和与你有交谈的人的细节；也许是他们去过的地方、他们想去的地方、他们喜欢的事、他们讨厌的事——任何关于你们谈起过的事情。）
