The Dragon Boat Festival is a traditional festival in China. It is celebrated to commemorate the patriotic poet Quyuan.

The Dragon Boat Festival is on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month in China. It is said that on the fifth day of May, when Qu Yuan learned that the state of Chu had been defeated by the state of Qin, he thought: I don't even have a state. What's the use of living? So Qu Yuan jumped into the Miluo River and died.

In order to find Quyuan, the fishermen rowed their boats to find him. Because the Miluo River was too big, the fishermen could not find him. In order to prevent fish and shrimp from eating Qu Yuan's body, they wrapped zongzi with Zongye into meat dumplings and threw them into the river for fish and shrimp to eat.

On the night before the Dragon Boat Festival, my mother and grandmother were making Zongye, glutinous rice and red dates. The next morning, my mother pulled me out of bed and asked me to wash my hands and learn to make zongzi with my grandmother. I had wanted to learn to make zongzi for a long time, so I quickly washed my hands and sat next to my grandmother.

My grandmother taught me: "first make it into a triangle bucket with two Zong leaves, put a red jujube, put a little glutinous rice to cover the red jujube, then put a few jujubes, fill the triangle bucket with glutinous rice, then cover the Zong leaves, and tie them with a rope.

" Grandma made a complete zongzi. I thought it was so simple and tried it, but I put some red dates in it and put some glutinous rice, and the glutinous rice leaked out.

Grandma said, "don't worry, take your time." So, one, two, three…… I tried to pack a lot of zongzi, and finally succeeded in making one.

I like eating zongzi, and I like the Dragon Boat Festival better, because in the Dragon Boat Festival, I learned a new skill to pack zongzi one by one.

Dragon Boat Festival on the fifth day of May.

Early in the morning, I was awakened by the fragrance of rice dumplings in the yard. I guess it must be grandma who made rice dumplings in the yard. I ran to the yard and saw grandma making zongzi. I was so happy that I jumped three feet high because I wanted to make rice dumplings.

I rolled up my sleeves and was preparing to make zongzi. My grandmother patted my hand and said with a smile, "wash your hands before making zongzi." I quickly ran into the toilet and washed my hands. Then I took a small bench and sat down with my grandmother to learn how to make zongzi.

Grandma told me that there are many skills in making zongzi.

First, make the leaves into a triangle, then put the glutinous rice, put a few dates in half, seal the mouth of the leaves, and finally wrap the thread around the dumplings to seal the dumplings.

After listening to grandma's words, I quickly wrapped a zongzi, took it up and showed it off to grandma. I didn't want the zongzi leaves to spread and the glutinous rice was sprinkled all over the floor.

I was a little frustrated. I didn't know when my mother was standing beside me. My mother patted my head lovingly and said, "failure is the mother of success. My mother believes that you can make better dumplings than my grandmother.

”After listening to my mother, I carefully wrapped up zongzi.

Finally, I made a beautiful rice dumpling. The rice dumplings behind me are better than each other. It was time to cook the dumplings. Grandma boiled the water and put them in one by one. When the dumplings were cooked, my family sat around and ate them. My father said, "eat quickly. After eating, we will go to see the dragon boat race."

After eating zongzi, we came to the river. We saw that the river was full of people watching the excitement. We passed through the crowd and saw all kinds of dragon boats parked on the river. There were rowers and drummers on the dragon boats, all holding their breath to compete for the first place.

Suddenly a whistle sounded, and several dragon boats quickly drew out like arrows leaving the strings. They competed with each other and did not give in to each other. Finally, the yellow team, which had always been ahead, won.

On the Dragon Boat Festival, I not only learned to make zongzi, but also watched the dragon boat race. I learned a skill while playing. I felt very happy and full of harvest.
