  1.[期刊论文]The adaptation of anthropomorphism and archetypes for marketing artificial intelligence

  摘要:Purpose - This paper aims to present an exploration of possible associations between the Jungian archetypes frequently used in marketing and three well-known products based on artificial intelligence (AI), namely, Sophia, Alexa and Articoolo. Design/methodology/approach - The study conducted emotionalist interviews to gather thick data from 11 participants on how they conceptualize these AI-based products. In the absence of any existing relevant hypotheses, this paper attempts to build theory using a case study approach and qualitative analysis of interview narratives. Findings - Despite the human attributes ascribed to these products, participants were principally concerned with their purpose, efficiency and the degree of trust which they felt could be accorded to the product. Anthropomorphism emerged as significant with participants making some associations with common archetypes traditionally exploited in marketing and this suggests a possible means of enhancing consumer trust in AI products. Originality/value - Little research has been conducted on the marketing of AI and this study presents a timely identification of some potentially significant issues. As AI is intended to mimic some aspects of human intelligence, the role of the archetype in creating a personality to enhance trust may prove crucial in securing consumer confidence.

However, the low-level of explainability, data biases, data security, data privacy, and ethical problems of AI-based technology pose significant risks for users, developers, humanity, and societies. As AI advances, one critical issue is how to address the ethical and moral challenges associated with AI. Even though the concept of "machine ethics" was proposed around 2006, AI ethics is still in the infancy stage. AI ethics is the field related to the study of ethical issues in AI. To address AI ethics, one needs to consider the ethics of AI and how to build ethical AI. Ethics of AI studies the ethical principles, rules, guidelines, policies, and regulations that are related to AI. Ethical AI is an AI that performs and behaves ethically. One must recognize and understand the potential ethical and moral issues that may be caused by AI to formulate the necessary ethical principles, rules, guidelines, policies, and regulations for AI (i.e., Ethics of AI). With the appropriate ethics of AI, one can then build AI that exhibits ethical behavior (i.e., Ethical AI). This paper will discuss AI ethics by looking at the ethics of AI and ethical AI What are the perceived ethical and moral issues with AI? What are the general and common ethical principles, rules, guidelines, policies, and regulations that can resolve or at least attenuate these ethical and moral issues with AI? What are some of the necessary features and characteristics of an ethical AI? How to adhere to the ethics of AI to build ethical AI?

  3.[期刊论文]Accurate prediction of responses to transarterial chemoembolization for patients with hepatocellular carcinoma by using artificial intelligence in contrast-enhanced ultrasound

  摘要:Objectives We aimed to establish and validate an artificial intelligence-based radiomics strategy for predicting personalized responses of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) to first transarterial chemoembolization (TACE) session by quantitatively analyzing contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) cines. Methods One hundred and thirty HCC patients (89 for training, 41 for validation), who received ultrasound examination (CEUS and B-mode) within 1 week before the first TACE session, were retrospectively enrolled. Ultrasonographic data was used for building and validating deep learning radiomics-based CEUS model (R-DLCEUS), machine learning radiomics-based time-intensity curve of CEUS model (R-TIC), and machine learning radiomics-based B-Mode images model (R-BMode), respectively, to predict responses (objective-response and non-response) to TACE with reference to modified response evaluation criteria in solid tumor. The performance of models was compared by areas under the receiver operating characteristic curve (AUC) and the DeLong test was used to compare different AUCs. The prediction robustness was assessed for each model. Results AUCs of R-DLCEUS, R-TIC, and R-BMode were 0.93 (95% CI, 0.80-0.98), 0.80 (95% CI, 0.64-0.90), and 0.81 (95% CI, 0.67-0.95) in the validation cohort, respectively. AUC of R-DLCEUS shows significant difference compared with that of R-TIC (p = 0.034) and R-BMode (p = 0.039), whereas R-TIC was not significantly different from R-BMode. The performance was highly reproducible with different training and validation cohorts. Conclusions DL-based radiomics method can effectively utilize CEUS cines to achieve accurate and personalized prediction. It is easy to operate and holds good potential for benefiting TACE candidates in clinical practice.

However, we can also place it within wider public discourse employing theistic conceptions of AI. Building on anthropological fieldwork into the 'entanglements of AI and Religion' (Singler 2017a), this article will explore how 'blessed by the algorithm' tweets are indicative of the impact of theistic AI narratives: modes of thinking about AI in an implicitly religious way. This thinking also represents continuities that push back against the secularisation thesis and other grand narratives of disenchantment that claim secularity occurs because of technological and intellectual progress. This article will also explore new religious movements, where theistic conceptions of AI entangle technological aspirations with religious ones.

  摘要:With innovations in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) advancing at an exponential rate, it is ever the more pertinent to interrogate the ramifications and potentialities of these developments. Luciano Floridi, known as "the Google philosopher," considers this phenomenon an integral part of the digital information age or the "Fourth Revolution." We are now forced to confront the following problems: What is the relationship between humans and AI? What does it mean to be "human"? What futures are possible given our current coevolution with AI? Such questions motivate close philosophical consideration. Here, the theoretical polarization of the doomsday neo-Luddite versus the overzealous futurist unnecessarily constrains philosophical dialogue.;While employing a feminist methodological approach, I turn to two films, Jonze's Her & Garland's Ex Machina, to explore these questions. The conditions of possibility that allowed for these films to emerge, point toward a simultaneous critique of phallogocentrism and anthropocentrism. Several frameworks---primarily feminist, psychoanalytic, Deleuzoguattarian, & Heideggerian---are deployed in this dissertation. Using visual media as the lens through which to probe these issues, I investigate how technology (AI specifically) changes what we consider to be human, our affective relation to technology, and how we coevolve with technology.
